The Unpredictable Polar Vortex:  5 Reasons to Use Industrial Grade Thermal Curtains

The Unpredictable Polar Vortex: 5 Reasons to Use Industrial Grade Thermal Curtains

With the polar vortex unpredictably shifting temperatures worldwide, it is always a good idea to prepare your business for spikes and dips in the ambient temperature – industrial grade thermal curtains will help your facility prepare for this occurrence. You can never really tell what temperature it going to be nowadays! While it is not 60° below freezing, it is still unseasonably cooler than normal and displaying some erratic weather patterns across the globe, causing some HVAC systems to work overtime in trying to maintain your desired temperature. This is where temperature control curtains would come into play.

Try not to think of these curtain dividers as only a necessity in the colder months, but think of an insulated industrial partition as providing you with the following:

  • A way to save on heating and cooling costs
  • Protecting integrity of temperature-sensitive products climate controlled areas
  • A temperature control divider that acts as a wall or can be pushed to the side, as needed.
  • Creating rooms within large areas

One additional fact to keep in mind is that a temperature can only be maintained if your HVAC system in place is functioning correctly, is set at the desired temperature level, and is a system with the appropriate specifications to heat or cool the designated area (For example, a split system air conditioning unit would be a very different system than an HVAC system to heat and/or cool a medium to large size warehouse).

As we delve into the ways that industrial grade thermal curtains can divide spaces and cut costs, please remember to keep four jackets – one for each season – on hand while you are waiting on your insulated industrial partition curtains!

Save on Heating & Cooling Costs

So the temperature in the Chicago area has dipped from close to 90’s to lower 50’s this week. Other areas around the world are also experiencing some very peculiar weather patterns, which throws off a great number of commercial HVAC systems.

Whether it is extreme heat from the outside and cooler air in the inside, or breezier outside with heat on the inside – temperature control dividers will help you contain your inside temperatures while keeping the outside weather where it should be – outside. The insulation that this curtain divider will provide will seal off the area and provide an effective barrier between your business operations and the great outdoors.

Protect your Temperature-Sensitive Products

When weather changes at the drop of a dime, certain areas that store temperature-sensitive products are at risk of being compromised. If a proper industrial grade thermal curtain enclosure is in place, complete with all edge sealing options (floor sweep, Velcro closures, custom filler panels, soft vinyl ceilings, etc.), you can contain the fixed temperatures within an area – with the ability to customize your curtain walls to fit any exhaust or temperature control equipment. HVAC systems will have far less “adjustment periods” in a warehouse or large space if your insulated industrial partition curtains are containing the area properly.

The only chance for this area to become variable is if you change the temperature! The inside of this insulated industrial partition containment room will always remain at a fixed, desired temperature, keeping the integrity and the quality of your product intact.

Retractable Temperature Control Dividers with R-Value!

When addressing sectioning off a large space, such as a warehouse area, you want to have the best possible solution for your business. Your list of “must-haves” or desired qualities for a dividing partition may look like the following:

  • “I want to have a temperature control divider with a specific R-Value.”
  • “Complete wall build-outs are very expensive.”
  • “I do not want to wait for a complete wall build out.”
  • “I want to have the ability to open the space up when needed.”
  • “I have a specific temperature difference between areas.”
  • “I want my temperature control divider to protect the inside of my large space from outdoor weather elements and temperatures.”

A retractable insulated industrial partition will satisfy these requirements and provide you with a solution that addresses space division and insulation issues without breaking the bank or slowing operations for months due to construction time! If temperatures on side A and side B of your curtain wall area have a differential of greater than 8°, it is time to consider using an insulated curtain! In all other cases, it may only be necessary to use a single-layer curtain that includes edge sealing options to stop airflow. Whichever your industrial curtain solution may be, your business can continue daily operations, even while the system is being installed in your facility.

A Room within a Room: Thermal Curtain Enclosures

Freestanding, suspended, and floor-to-ceiling mounting options for your enclosure give your thermal curtain walls a structure in which a room can be created within a large area, where there are no walls or structures. You will find in many situations, especially temperature sensitive areas, the need for industrial grade temperature control dividers to separate higher degree differentials is essential for your business operations.

3 Major Industries That Could Use Industrial Grade Curtains

3 Major Industries That Could Use Industrial Grade Curtains

Industrial grade curtains are used to isolate spaces within warehouses or open areas in large facilities. Larger manufacturing projects, storage for inventory, multiple vehicle service stations, and many other business functions require a great amount of space for their operations due to their larger scale requirements. Warehouse type structures generally have an open area with little customization or division of processes.

An industrial grade curtain is a solution that tends to solve a number of large space issues. They are also a great way to stay within the parameters of a budget, whether it is a government expenditure or a body shop equipment expense. The following are three major industries (of the many which AmCraft serves) that could use the assistance of industrial grade curtains.

Government Industry Applications & Privacy

There are a wide variety of industries within government applications that can be curtain walls, such as containment. This can be anything from military vehicle testing areas to servicing repairs in aircraft hangars; and other applications of this type. An industrial grade acoustic curtain enclosure could either keep noise out of an area or contain noise within an area, whereas a simple industrial grade curtain divider can separate one area from another to define spaces.

Larger scale government or military construction projects that are highly classified in nature will need to be hidden from view, especially if there are international contractors and engineers on-site. Though these projects may last an extended amount of time, most times, they are still temporary in nature. Industrial privacy curtains provide a means to separate classified areas from the larger expanse of operations within an open space, providing the space division when needed, and retractability when the project needs to be moved. This confidentiality can be further enhanced with industrial privacy curtains to keep the area completely out of sight using options such as Velcro closures between curtain panels, Velcro connections to walls, filler panels, floor sweeps, and floor attachments (included with D-rings). The industrial privacy curtain wall divider can also be moved to alternate locations when one project ends and another project in a new area begins.

Agricultural Industry Against the Elements

The agricultural industry naturally brings the outdoors inside. A large industrial barn is used for a number of different purposes: for the storage of harvested crops or livestock; the storage and maintenance of agricultural machinery; or for recreational reasons. Another benefit of an industrial grade curtain divider is to save money by controlling temperature zones within the industrial barn. Industrial grade agriculture curtain dividers also prevent cross contamination between areas and from the outdoors to indoors. Those in the agricultural industry need retractable curtain walls to define work areas but also to pull back the curtain when needed.

Agricultural curtain partitions help to protect your harvested crops while they are in storage awaiting pickup for national and/or international distribution. While they are literally a product of the outdoors brought indoors, it may still be necessary to protect your crops from any additional outdoor elements that may reach your product. This would prevent any harmful bacteria, bugs, dirt, or additional contaminants which could affect the quality of the produce.

Agricultural curtains can also house combine harvesters, crop sprayers, slurry trailers, planes with chemical sprayers, and other agricultural machinery, all under the same roof. Usually, an entire farm building or a large wing of an industrial barn is used accommodate these vehicles, given their size. You may have a “parking” area in front for ground vehicles, and a “parking” area with a runway connected to it for planes, both with entrances that have a great height and exaggerated width. Ideally, a maintenance bay for these vehicles would be set back a bit to make sure the outdoor elements will not affect repair workstations and also to contain any forced air and/or exhaust systems you have in place. Wash stations are created with industrial grade curtain walls or enclosures and are a great way to keep the equipment clean and functioning properly without affecting surrounding areas. With all of these machines under one roof, it’s time to consider agricultural industrial grade curtains to separate and define your work areas.

Autobody Industry & Separation of Processes

Millions of people use vehicles every day to get from point A to point B. The autobody industry is a necessary and always expanding field. There are new requirements, vehicular technologies, and repair technologies that are ever-changing in the business. With the rapid growth of features and options in vehicle construction as well as the upward trend in providing a “one-stop shop” for consumers, an auto body shop needs to create work areas that are not only isolated for a specific purpose, but needs to look clean and professional for customers. An autobody shop provides services for multiple processes, on a wide spectrum of makes and models of cars that come in for repair. It is a challenge to meet ongoing compliance with federal requirements for the auto body shop owner! Luckily, there are certain solutions that a divider curtain can provide to assist with compliance.

Body shop divider curtain walls can be created to enclose a painting area (and accommodate an exhaust system); to isolate grinding, sanding, and welding areas; to accurately assess collision repair damages without distraction; to enclose an area that requires a full deconstruction of the car, and many other functions! Body shop divider curtains help to organize the multitude of processes that are required within a single shop. From reducing shop noise to preventing hazardous and/or cross-contaminating situations, body shop divider curtains are the ideal solution to separating designated spaces to serve different functions within the shop.

Whether it is a local body shop or a government aircraft hangar, industrial grade curtains help define spaces for multiple processes within a facility, provide clean areas for specific functions, offer protection from the elements and sound, meet compliance regulations, or just to create a room within another room. Call AmCraft today for more details on how we can help to define your space for better work efficiency!

How Industrial Curtain Enclosure Rooms Can Help You

How Industrial Curtain Enclosure Rooms Can Help You

In a commercial or warehouse environment, industrial curtain enclosure rooms can serve multiple functions, for many applications in a wide array of industries across the board. Some of the most used applications of curtain wall enclosures can range from helping you meet government compliance and regulations, to simply creating a separate room in a large open space. The opportunities to use industrial curtains to create these rooms are endless! Read some of our major curtain room enclosure solutions below – as beneficial as these are, there are many more applications for your business!

Automotive Paint Booth Rooms

If you are in the business of painting different types of vehicles, there are several requirements that the automotive paint booth rooms must have in regards to exhaust and filter systems as well as compliant equipment. An automotive paint booth that is made of curtain walls can create a room where there isn’t one, but also takes it to the next level. The paint booth enclosure system has replaceable and compliant filters which are integrated within the curtain’s construction for worker safety and to fit exhaust systems and/or equipment for protection from debris and other contaminants. Custom curtain wall sizing, enclosure ceilings and mounting systems are made to fit your space and existing interior structural elements (trusses, walls, floors, ceilings, etc.).
In many different types of facilities, the noise from machinery, construction, and/or other processes that occur within your workspace have a tendency to do one of two things:
  • Disrupt the workflow, making communication and concentration difficult
  • Ultimately causing health issues in employees, shop workers, and supervisory staff
For both instances, an acoustic enclosure room made from sound-rated material will reduce the decibel level from the sound source, creating a more comfortable work environment and meet OSHA compliance for safe sound levels.
Mini Form

Loud machinery that is located in a large work area coupled with many reflective surfaces is a dangerous recipe for industrial sound issues. Government regulations determine that any noise level that is 85dB and above requires the facility to integrate a full, comprehensive sound program in order to address these noise levels for health and safety hazards. An acoustic curtain enclosure around the sound source will create a room in which the noise is contained, for the most part. Depending on the frequency level and the decibel output, an acoustical enclosure room has the potential to decrease sound anywhere between 15dB and 45dB!

Consider this – a 20dB reduction is about 4 times quieter than the sound source originally creates. A sound output of 100dB can be reduced to 80dB with an acoustic enclosure, below the required minimum of sound regulations!

How do we know this? A project that we worked on to solve an unwanted noise issue (similar to this example) with low frequency, high decibel sound transference (some of the hardest noises to reduce and contain) has been already accomplished and successfully tested! The time you may spend on integrating an intensive sound program can now be spent on actual business operations instead of preventative measures, because of the use of an acoustic room enclosure.

High Heat Curtain Enclosure Rooms

So you have a high heat application, such as industrial ovens, metal casting processes, the manufacture of metals from their raw materials, and welding facilities… now you are probably wondering, how do I enclose the source of heat with a curtain enclosure? In a large space full of workers and potentially temperature-sensitive components, it is important to maintain a comfortable level of temperature in the work area when high heat processes can range from 200° to 1500°F. A heat curtain enclosure can contain the heat and accommodate any ventilation or exhaust units you may be using to alleviate the high temperatures within the facility.

Welding Curtain Enclosures

You can use weld screens and welding curtains to create a welding curtain enclosure, which will enclose welder workspaces within your industrial area / facility. A semi-transparent vinyl weld screen creates the viewing “window”. This will allow management, trainees, and/or other employees to carefully observe and examine the welding process from the other side of the welding curtain enclosure without risking the eye damage of flash burns, welding arc, UV light, and sparks.

The list of reasons why an industrial curtain enclosure room will benefit your business is evident. The following are just some of the ways to isolate your work areas:

  • Edge sealing techniques
  • Curtain enclosure construction tailored for food processing facilities
  • Insulated industrial curtain enclosures
  • Creating curtain enclosure rooms within a larger room in a cost-efficient way

Advantages of Using Insulated Curtains

Advantages of Using Insulated Curtains

When you work in an industrial setting, you probably encounter areas within your workspace that could benefit from some form of separation. For example, if you work in a food industry setting, there may be areas of the warehouse that need to be kept at a different temperature than the rest of the space. You may also be using curtains as a flexible means of entry from the outdoors, in which case it may be ideal to have the insulated curtains keeping the temperature zones separate. There are a number of

advantages to using insulated curtains

instead of traditional, non-insulated industrial curtains.

Save Money on Energy Costs

Installing insulated curtains in your workspace can help you save on energy costs by isolating specific work zones into their own temperature-controlled areas. Because insulated curtains ensure that, for example, cool air in a refrigerated zone doesn’t escape to the non-refrigerated area, you’ll end up spending less over time because the air conditioner won’t have to work as hard to keep the designated work environment at a consistent temperature. By containing temperature zones, your heating and cooling equipment have an easier job, which naturally costs less money. You’ll start to notice the savings sooner than you think – equipment working hard can really add up fast!

Keep Temperature Zones Consistent

Insulated curtains also ensure that the aforementioned temperature zones stay at the temperature they need to be. For instance, if the curtains are being used to contain indoor work areas from outdoor exposure, the insulated curtains will help prevent outside weather from changing the climate within the building. That means that in a building where the curtains are installed at a loading zone, the curtains’ presence helps keep the inside of the building at a comfortable temperature, regardless of what’s going on outside. These systems help you focus more on the activities of your business and less on temperature control.

Enjoy a Non-Permanent Solution

Of course, if the main goal is to separate different temperature zones, building walls and doors can get the job done as well, but one advantage of using insulated curtains is that they are an impermanent solution. Over time, your needs for the workspace may change or shift around, and because the curtains can be moved around, changing how they work for your space is not as involved as it would be to get rid of or move walls and doors. Impermanence may not always be seen as a positive thing; however, in the case of insulated curtains, it often is.

How Industrial Noise Curtains Reduce Ambient Noise

How Industrial Noise Curtains Reduce Ambient Noise

In commercial and industrial environments, most interior structures are not built with room acoustics in mind – this is where

industrial noise curtains

can help! In a warehouse or in an office setting, there are different types of sound reducing options available – acoustic sound barrier curtains are one way to help control noise levels and echo.

Noise Reduction Simplified

Sound does not pass through surfaces and/or structures, but rather “activates” a building. The building itself actually transmits sound waves as energy, which moves through the building’s structure. Sound-absorptive batting that is built into the industrial noise curtains converts this energy to heat. The acoustically-rated membrane, which is also built into the curtain, will assist in dramatically reducing the sound from the source.

Consider the analogy of light passing through a window. A light curtain with low-density material will not block all of the light. There needs to be a material that is more solid in nature to effectively block the light. The same is true with sound. Although sound insulation will help with the absorption of a sound wave, it needs a higher-density acoustic sound barrier membrane within the industrial curtain in order to drastically reduce noise.

Warehouse acoustic curtains or industrial sound curtain walls typically use staggered mounting patterns and proper edge sealing to dramatically improve the effectiveness of the sound barrier curtain.

Sound Absorption & Reflective Surfaces in a Warehouse

The absorption of sound is especially challenging when dealing with work areas that have a number of reflective surfaces. Reflective surfaces can be made of metal, glass, granite, cement, cinder block, or other smooth, hard surface materials. In warehouses and other industrial settings, this would be anything from the cement walls, concrete floors, corrugated aluminum ceilings, and steel trusses.

Sound waves, especially the hard-to-block low frequency waves, bounce off these surfaces easily. This is why having the proper acoustic curtain system, in any type of setting with a great number of reflective surfaces, is important. Since warehouses are known for large scale, open areas, the chance for reverberated noise / sound to travel and reflect are much higher than in other settings. An effective industrial sound barrier, whether they are curtain walls or baffles, can cut down and/or can redirect many of these sound wave reflections.

Mini Form

Absorbing Sound from Reflecting Surfaces in an Office

In a more “polished,” office setting, this would include glass windows, metal walls or structures, or floor tiles and/or hardwood floors. Most offices are more intimate, with management and other personnel working in separate workspaces in a larger office area. With people in a more confined space, a greater level of noise reduction is required. Industrial noise curtains soften the everyday office noise that may disrupt the workflow. An ideal solution is the following: install ceiling baffles and/or acoustic wall panels, which provide additional sound reduction along with industrial grade noise curtains. The sound waves will be effectively reduced using the baffles and panels, cutting down the echo. These products would be used in addition to the sound curtains, which will help to reduce noise in areas of the office that require a high degree of concentration, in meetings rooms and in other areas that require a more sound restrictive environment.

Noise Reduction & Large Work Areas

Most large work areas require noise reduction to a certain extent. This can be dependent on the decibel level of noise, the type of noise source, the distance from the source, whether it has a high or low frequency, and the number of reflective surfaces which are present. Sometimes, an office setting can have a “loft feel,” in which there are exposed structures and ductwork. In sports venues (such as a pool facility), water, tiles, open air, walls and ceilingscan all create an excessive amount of reverberant noise. In music venues, the absorption of sound and the proper acoustics are necessary to optimize the sound quality of the music played. Using acoustical curtains in the workplace makes the environment safer for employees and helps to control excess noise that can come from equipment, crowds that gather in large spaces and reverberated noise from all that activity. Find out how you can customize your space for noise reduction with retractable sound curtains, enclosures, ceiling baffles and/or wall panels.

There will always be a need for areas to improve sound attenuation using acoustic sound barriers or industrial noise dividers in the workplace. Contact AmCraft today about your project!

Why and How to Divide a Space with Industrial Curtain Walls

Why and How to Divide a Space with Industrial Curtain Walls

If you work in or manage/own a warehouse or garage space, you know the challenges associated with keeping jobs properly contained. Whether you’re working on vehicles, painting them, or doing anything else within the location, chances are separating out some of the space could be beneficial to your business.

Why?

The “why” of separating industrial spaces is simple – these spaces can be in disarray and can be very loud. Industrial curtain walls provide a simple solution for sectioning off areas to keep grime and substances, like paint spray or oil particles, contained. Additionally, work within a warehouse or garage can be noisy to the point of distracting other workers. Installing curtain walls is a good way to keep that at bay and allow everyone to work to their fullest capabilities. Separating spaces using industrial curtains can also be beneficial for your energy bills, if you cool parts of the building but not others. Dividing spaces can help you further customize where your various utilities, such as air conditioning or even lighting, are used. Even better, separating garages using curtains means that you can repurpose or reorganize the layout virtually anytime you want, since the setup is not permanent.

How?

The process of installing industrial curtains depends on what type of system you want. There are several different types of track systems, but mainly you need to decide what type of curtain wall you’d like to use – industrial curtain walls, insulated curtain walls, or acoustic curtains. Industrial curtain walls are versatile and can be used in many different areas besides garages and warehouses and can be beneficial when used as:

  • Photography backdrops
  • Heavy duty outdoor curtains
  • Paint booth curtains
  • Food storage
  • Food grade curtains
  • Autobody shop curtains

As for insulated curtain walls, these are ideal for sectioning off areas that are kept at different temperatures—such as warehouses that deal with food storage.

Acoustic curtains are most beneficial for loud areas in which sound containment can help boost the area’s efficiency and/or help meet compliance for noise regulations.

Once you choose the type of curtain you need—dependent on what you’ll be using them for—you’ll have an easy time figuring out how to install them within your workspace. If you need help figuring out what equipment you’ll need for installation, the associates at AmCraft Manufacturing will be happy to help you find the perfect fit.

Get a Room!:  PVC Vinyl Enclosures

Get a Room!
PVC Vinyl Enclosures

In a large space, whether it is a warehouse and/or industrial setting or a large, recreational venue, a

PVC vinyl enclosure

can create a room where there isn’t one. An industrial curtain enclosure is a perfect option to help you successfully divide workspace by application, process, or function. In the example below, a customized cleanroom enclosure is designed with exhaust air flow systems that will properly ventilate the enclosed area. Curtain wall enclosures can be attached to existing interior structural features, such as trusses, I-Beams, walls, wooden support beams, directly to ceilings, or all other mountable surfaces. See how AmCraft created “something” from “nothing” and assisted our customer in GETTING A ROOM.

Softwall Enclosures for Ventilated Room Requirements

A customer initially contacted AmCraft to provide a curtain wall enclosure with three points of access (and one alternate access point) that will not only seal off the area with wall and a ceiling, but will also include NESHAP compliant media filters integrated within the curtain to sustain the necessary airflow. In the design phase, careful attention was placed first to where items will be located in relation to a proper ventilation system. Working together, the customer and our technical specialists were able to create a cleanroom solution that prevents fumes, contaminants, and hazardous substances from escaping the curtain enclosure. With NESHAP-approved filters incorporated into the industrial curtain, this vinyl enclosure made of industrial curtain material provides the ability to keep the air quality as clean as possible.

Drop it Down: Suspending a Softwall Enclosure System

The customer needed the system to be configured in way that it would drop down from the ceiling. The curtain wall enclosure area required a mounting grid to attach the translucent PVC vinyl ceiling so the light fixtures above the ceiling could be utilized without compromising edge sealing of the vinyl enclosure itself. A steel mounting grid was suspended from the ceiling, and the track was attached to the grid, which created the enclosed space.

Walls Up: Creating the Clean Enclosure Area

What is Red, White, and clear in the center? This customer chose their colors, their options, and their area wisely! The finished product – a cleanroom enclosure – provides the necessary filtration needed to accommodate the customer’s ventilation systems.

Softwall enclosures made of flexible vinyl material provide a cost-efficient way to create enclosed cleanrooms that will work within most any industry and/or application. For more information on vinyl enclosures, contact one of our technical specialists to discuss your curtain wall enclosure requirements!

Using Industrial Wall Curtains Within Warehouses

Using Industrial Wall Curtains Within Warehouses

Within warehouses

, there is typically a lot of open air space that can be contaminated with different particles from around the area. Things like paint particles, oil (in garages), dust, dirt, and more can circulate through the warehouse and make the entire enclosure a mess over time. If you’ve been looking for a way to mitigate the damage or mess caused by airborne particles, you’ll love what industrial curtain walls can do for you.

Separating Spaces

Industrial curtain walls are great for separating spaces. For instance, separating different bays where vehicles are painted can help prevent the mixing of the paint overspray in the air, which can cause flaws in a paint job. Likewise, curtaining off a section of a warehouse or garage with curtains can protect the contents of the enclosed area by keeping it away from the operations of the rest of the warehouse or garage. This can not only protect work you’re doing from outside debris, but it can protect the rest of the space from being contaminated or polluted by what’s going on within the enclosure. Separating spaces is also ideal for mapping out different departments within your business or operation—this helps keep projects and processes separate and contained.

Containing Noise & Particles

These warehouse walls and garage curtains are ideal not only for containing particles, but noise as well, which is perfect for jobs that are both noisy and messy—such as work on machinery, vehicles, and other jobs. Depending on the type of curtain and containment you’re looking for, this solution can be exactly what you need. From autobody shop curtains to paint booth curtains, welding curtains and warehouse curtains, and even food grade curtains and industrial barn curtains, there are plenty of options available to suit your needs.

Concealing Unappealing or Sensitive Operations

Aside from containing debris, airborne particles and noise, industrial curtain walls can work to conceal unappealing or even secret/sensitive information and operations. For instance, if you’re working on a project that is large and aesthetically unappealing but you have visitors coming to the warehouse or simply want to hide what you consider to be an eyesore, industrial curtains are great for this purpose. In the same vein, if you need to keep some things covered up due to confidentiality or a project being a work in progress that you’d prefer to keep under wraps until it’s finished, again, industrial curtain walls are a perfect way to do so.

Dividing Auto Maintenance Bays With Industrial Curtains

Dividing Auto Maintenance Bays With Industrial Curtains

As spring turns into summer, the

auto maintenance repair industry

generally sees an increase in the number of vehicles, both cars and trucks, coming through the garage doors and into their auto maintenance bays. Typically loaded with a great number of general auto maintenance requests, a vehicle repair shop that is dedicated automobile maintenance needs to separate processes at times to improve efficiency. A good workflow process can be achieved with retractable industrial curtains that can temporarily open an area up, as needed. See how car repair enclosures and general auto repair divider curtains can improve workflow for standard auto maintenance and repair shops.

Autobody Repair Curtains For General Maintenance

With general automotive repairs dominating over 85% of the industry, it is no wonder that vehicle repair shops require some sort of organization in their valuable floor space. General repairs can include: diagnostics, rebuilds, fuel injection cleaning, brake services, timing belt changes, tune-ups, clutches, and many other services. Since these repairs are required as routine maintenance for all vehicles, the industry has repeat customers that have the potential of coming back for all of their vehicle maintenance needs. They will not only go back to car/truck repair shops that offer great repair services and attention to customers, but also have a neat, professional work environment. Vehicle repair curtains can be used to hide messier parts of the shop. An added benefit to an auto repair divider curtain is that different vehicle bays and/or repair processes can be turned into general car repair enclosures that will separate maintenance bays from the rest of the shop. Autobody repair curtains are made with an easy-to-clean, durable industrial grade vinyl and the curtain walls can also include vision panels for easy viewing from one area to another in the shop.

Automotive Transmission / Exhaust Repair Enclosures

For hydraulic, electronic, and computer systems for transmission repair and exhaust repairs, vehicle and car repair enclosures around the transmission / exhaust bays are necessary in order to divide the frequent repair requests from the more costly maintenance repairs. Vehicle repair enclosures are made using industrial vinyl curtains and can include floor sweeps, that negotiate a slope or stem airflow under the autobody repair curtains. Providing a dedicated vehicle repair enclosure that will not be impacted by elements, debris, or miscellaneous objects from other maintenance bays helps to ensure that quality work can be achieved.

Other Auto Maintenance Repairs: Auto Maintenance Curtains

For repairs that are less frequently requested such as: tune-ups, automotive electrical repair, fuel system conversion, battery and ignition repair, radiator repair, and alternator / starter repair; autobody repair curtains can separate the area from the rest of the shop, especially while working on repairs that may be more disheveled than other repair bays may be. The car repair curtains can be used to hide one area from another to make it more attractive to transient customers. Providing a professional repair shop appearance as well as a functional division between the areas is important to employee safety as well as showing your customers that the quality of work and repair procedures is what separates them from the competition!

However you decide to divide your general auto maintenance bays, AmCraft has a custom industrial curtain solution that will provide your shop with the functionality and division of space that you need. You can choose your own color, add a logo (or several logos) if you would like, and work around existing structures and layouts, as needed. Keeping the Peace: Reducing Industrial Noise with Curtains

Keeping the Peace: Reducing Industrial Noise with Curtains

When a business has certain processes within the workflow that may disrupt neighboring companies, residences, or other facilities, it is important to stay within the city ordinances to avoid citations for sound disturbance. Our industrial sound curtains help to create an environment that will

reduce industrial noise,

help to absorb industrial clamor, and assist in reducing echo within the warehouse. Take a look below at one instance in which AmCraft industrial sound curtains solved the issue of noise disturbance for a meat company.

Too Early To Rise: Noise Complaints

A company within the meat industry contacted AmCraft to reduce the noise levels that were made from loading trucks during working hours. The company is located in a semi-residential area and starting the day at 3:30 A.M., the company had several complaints about the sounds not only from the truck loading docks, but also from within the industrial space (due to echo in the warehouse).

Careful to be respectful to their neighbors, the company decided that they needed a movable, sound reducing solution that would help absorb the industrial sound, decrease the warehouse echo, and reduce the work noise that was disrupting many residences very early in the morning. This solution also required the ability to move out of the way (or retract) as needed to allow more space for movement of product and people. Since the noise curtain may be exposed to outdoor elements, they were able to choose a pleasing color for the outer vinyl layer, creating a durable, professional-looking outer shell which can be easily cleaned.

Being a Good Neighbor: A Noise Reduction Solution

After working with our technical specialists, the company was able to successfully section off an area of the warehouse which faced the residences, allowing for the noise, echo, and any other industrial sounds to be absorbed and greatly reduced using our retractable noise reducing curtains. The reverberated sound from the warehouse, the noise from the truck loading station, and any other noise permeating through the area was now contained within the business itself, creating an environment that is comfortable for the surrounding areas.

With our unique attention to absorbing the sound wave before it reaches the sound membrane, it creates a more functional opportunity for the curtain to work effectively for its industrial noise reduction purpose.
