Paint Overspray Curtain Enclosure

Paint Overspray Curtain Enclosure

Autobody shops use an overspray curtain enclosure for a clean and effective way to repaint automobiles and trucks that come in for collision repair. The overspray curtain enclosure is used as a paint station for auto detailing as well as auto refurbishing. To be in this business, it is imperative that the area used for painting be clean and free of air borne particles that could stick to the fresh paint. A paint overspray curtain enclosure is the best way to create a workspace for this purpose. The quality of work depends on filtering air particles and restrict contaminates from entering the enclosure as well as prevent air borne particles from circulating inside the enclosure during the paint process.

AmCraft Manufacturing uses Industrial Vinyl Curtains to create the paint spray enclosure. The curtain paint overspray enclosure is usually mounted on a roller track system for easy access into the enclosure, but can also be mounted to a structural beam or ceiling trusses. The air filter on an overspray enclosure is important not only for the cleanliness of the paint job, but also for worker safety. Paint and vapors are contained inside the enclosure with ceiling to floor curtain walls and use air filtration systems inside the enclosure.

AmCraft Manufacturing created a custom air flow filter for this auto detailing company in order to better filter out particles when the air filtration equipment is running. These large air filters were fabricated into the enclosure walls and can be easily removed. The filters allow a minimal air flow through the enclosure in order to limit its vacuum effect when the equipment is running. The filters work to provide better air flow management as well as restricting air borne particles from entering the enclosure.

are an economical and easy solution to separating large spaces. Many types of businesses require a room divider solution for their warehouse or other large space within a facility. Industrial curtain walls are usually mounted to the ceiling or ceiling trusses using sturdy roller track systems. This curtain track system allows the curtain panels to be retractable for easy entry and offers mobility in moving equipment in and out of the enclosure.

In this photo, sensitive digital printing equipment requires a controlled temperature environment as well as a clean, dust free space to function properly. Industrial Curtains isolate debris and airborne odors from the rest of the workspace, thus protecting the valuable equipment.

AmCraft curtain wall panels and track systems are removable and easy to install in another location, or can easily be expanded to serve future needs.

The flexibility and cost efficiency of industrial curtain and track for use as an indoor enclosure provides the best solution for many businesses that need to isolate areas for a specific need. An industrial curtain enclosure is a great option to installing expensive structural walls.

Wash Bay Divider Curtain used in Large Storage Facility

Wash Bay Divider Curtain used in Large Storage Facility

Custom Wash Bay Curtain

AmCraft Manufacturing fabricated a wash bay divider curtain solution for a large farm that housed expensive equipment inside their shop. It was necessary to clean large farming equipment in a sectioned off area and prevent overspray from damaging other sensitive equipment inside. For this, AmCraft’s industrial wash bay curtains created a wash bay inside of their 80 ft. X 114 ft. shop the size of 75 ft. X 40 ft. This U shaped wash bay curtain was installed on a roller track system to retract and allow for a 30 ft. entrance door on the west end.

The wash bay divider curtain is made from heavy vinyl with a clear vision panel for employee safety. The roller track system was mounted to the ceiling trusses which allow the wash bay curtain to retract fully to the wall, allowing access to the shop without intrusion.

The cost for the wash bay divider curtain and track system provided a more custom design and was considerably less to purchase and install than a prefabricated attached wash bay system.

Industrial Curtain Wall Channel stop curtains from ‘billowing out’

Industrial Curtain Wall Channel stop curtains from ‘billowing out’

AmCraft devised a plastic industrial curtain wall channel that mounts to your wall to help control ‘swaying’ of the curtain from wind or indoor blower equipment. The Industrial Curtain Wall Channel stop curtains from ‘billowing out’, which is caused by the extreme height of an industrial curtain and the amount of sway that is produced from air movement within a facility.

Industrial roller track systems for industrial curtains many times have to contend with outside winds or indoor blowers that can affect how well the curtains control air flow and protect from debris and odors. An industrial curtain can be attached to the wall and used in a number of ways, which is determined by the amount of accessibility and air containment you will need when using your curtain.

Curtain Wall Channels are permanently mounted to a structural wall so the wind seal channel can stop the curtain from moving to far outward, and prevent it from’ billowing out’.

Loose, hanging curtains are inserted into the channel and left unattached to the channel or the walls for instant retractability of the the curtain.

The channel can also be used to bond the curtain more securely. This minimizes accessibility, but will provide more stability of the curtains.

Retractable Acoustic Curtains

Retractable Acoustic Curtains

AmCraft Manufacturing has engineered a new

retractable acoustic curtain

option for insulated curtains used in the workplace. Our unique design is lightweight and easy to retract on an industrial roller track system. We developed an acoustic curtain design that is lightweight, folds to a smaller footprint, and offers better accessibility to work areas. Acoustic curtains are typically used to reduce noise levels generated by heavy equipment that becomes amplified in large spaces. Customers have asked us for a solution that would reduce the decibel levels of noisy equipment in their shop to meet or exceed government regulations for employee safety. The level of occupational noise reduction you will need for your facility is determined by first taking a decibel reading of the immediate and surrounding areas. The loudest noise level point is the amount of noise reduction you will need for compliance. Osha regulation noise level limits can be found here.

AmCraft’s designer and engineers created a retractable acoustic curtain with a pattern that incorporates the insulated panels in such a way to allow the curtain to fully retract to the wall, using much less space than typical insulated curtain patterns. AmCraft’s retractable acoustic curtains are more lightweight and easier to use than many other acoustic curtains on the market today.

AmCraft’s acoustic curtains options provide noise reducing protection you need in sizes and colors to fit your facility. Call us today at 847-439-4565 for more information.

Photography Backdrop Curtains

Photography Backdrop Curtains

Photography Backdrop Curtains

are becoming increasingly popular to use as photographic backgrounds in photo shoots of large objects in large spaces. Photography backdrop curtains can be custom made to any size required to fill a large space, typically a warehouse. AmCraft photography backdrop curtains are custom made using your choice of vinyl or fabric material in many solid color options. Blue or green vinyl is used to create a ‘blue screen’ or ‘green screen’ background that is used in the merging of digital images for advertising purposes. AmCraft’s fabric photo backdrop curtains absorb light and provides a nearly black background, thus eliminating ‘hot spots’ from lighting systems. A solid background allows a digital artist to add a photographic, video or computer generated image over the background to match up with the photographed object (in this case, an automobile) to increase marketing effectiveness. Many print and TV advertisers use this technology to save money by reducing the cost of ‘on location’ photography sessions.

The photography backdrop curtain made using vinyl material is opaque, which blocks natural and indoor light. The best results are achieved with a matte finish vinyl, it is the least reflective. Another option is a gloss vinyl material, but this may cause some ‘hot spots’ of light on the curtain if artificial lighting (strobes or camera lighting systems) are used too close to the curtain.

In this example, a customer wanted to keep the natural light to a minimum, as it was right next to the garage doors leading outside. Using white vinyl, the light is blocked but still provides minimal soft and even lighting.

Floor to ceiling curtains are mounted to a retractable track system which allows the curtains to open and close. Our variety of ceiling mount track options provide flexibility in the use of a photography backdrop curtain.

Our vinyl industrial curtains are strong and weather resistant, you can use them indoors or outdoors.

AmCraft Manufacturing can fabricate a photo background curtain to any size and configuration to meet your space requirements. This cost efficient option is easy to use, clean, and install. Helpful Tips Before Ordering Industrial Curtains and Cleanroom Enclosures

Helpful Tips Before Ordering Industrial Curtains and Cleanroom Enclosures

Consider these

helpful tips before ordering industrial curtain systems and cleanroom enclosures.

Careful planning helps to create the perfect Industrial Curtain Wall or Cleanroom Enclosure for your Space.

Industrial curtain walls and curtain enclosures are used in many business applications to contain a space for a variety of uses. Industrial curtains are used as warehouse curtains, room divider curtains, softwall cleanrooms, hot air / cold air aisle containment curtains, autobody shop curtains and car wash curtains, to name a few.

Industrial Curtain Walls are typically ceiling to floor 14 oz or 18 oz vinyl curtains that are hung on a steel roller track system. The curtain walls are often retractable for the ease of accessibility, and the track can be re-mounted to a stable structure for mobility anywhere within your facility.

To assure a successful curtain project, AmCraft provides helpful tips before ordering industrial curtains or cleanroom enclosures. Here are a few important details to take into consideration before ordering a curtain wall system:

  • Determine if your workspace is near fire, sparks or highly flammable items. This would mean you should order a specific pvc vinyl material that is flame rated and hazmat safe.
  • Is there a sprinkler system in your facility where the curtains will be installed? The curtains need to be installed in a way that complies with your local fire department safety codes.
  • Ensure that the structure will support your curtain wall system or curtain enclosure at the ceiling level. These curtains tend to be heavy and are used typically with roller track systems, so the track system needs to be stable. We can help you determine what the weight of your curtains will be before you order to alleviate any potential problems during installation.
  • If you need to create an enclosure that is airtight, light tight or a cleanroom enclosure free of contaminants, we recommend that you use filler panels at the ceiling level, between the ceiling and the curtain track. These are foam filler panels that are custom cut with perforated, slotted angles that are perpendicular or parallel to your structural deck ceiling to create a fit tight. They are used with a ceiling suspension mount, and are custom cut every 5’ to 8’ the make them malleable enough to be notched, yet strong enough to mount all the way up to the ceiling deck. Heavy adhesive velcro strips are used to attach the filler panels. The foam filler panels also serve as a ‘wall’ of the enclosure to control temperature variances between the inside and outside of the contained area. They provide a custom solution to any ceiling deck and are easy to install and replace.

Call AmCraft at 847-439-4565 with your specific requirements and we will help to make sure all of these important installation details are addressed before you order your curtain. Hot Aisle and Cold Aisle Air Containment Curtains

Hot Aisle & Cold Aisle Air Containment Curtains

Hot Aisle and Cold Aisle Air Containment Curtains are widely used in Technology and Data Centers as a way to control air flow and temperature variances within an area that houses heat generating equipment. Aisle containment curtains are used to contain and control air flow in hot aisles, cold aisles or a combination of variant temperatures within a specific area. Hot Aisle and Cold Aisle Air Containment Curtains can be utilized either as a retractable curtain to provide flexibility in its use, or can be installed to create a complete containment center that is air tight (enclosed) using its own independent air filtration system. Both options provide effective air flow and temperature management to specified areas within a room.

AmCraft Containment Curtains

AmCraft Hot Aisle Air Containment Curtains and Cold Aisle Air Containment Curtains are manufactured from PVC vinyl in any custom length, height, color and layout requirement you need.

  • Fabricated using coated reinforced PVC vinyl which is NFPA-701 and CFM certified for flame resistance. (40 mil to 80 mil vinyl, 14oz and 18oz vinyl)
  • Vinyl materials have low outgassing properties
  • Static free, laser blocking, light blocking and blackout materials are available
  • Clear vinyl is welded into the center of a curtain to create an optional viewing window
  • Various options are available for creating an air tight seal of the curtain to floors, walls, ceilings, track systems and support structures.
  • Strip Doors provide easy personnel and forklift access
  • Hinged or sliding doors provide an air tight seal
  • Metal Frame Room Structures are custom built on site, curtains are installed
  • Insulated curtains offer increased temperature containment, noise containment and protection for equipment from extreme environments and exposure
  • Provides a softwall barrier between equipment for flexible room configurations

Hot Aisle and Cold Aisle containment Curtains can be used on a retractable track if the area does not need to have critical air containment. This will moderate temperature zones and air flow in a specific area and provide easy accessibility for personnel. Retractable Curtains on a roller track system can have a second curtain (valance) attached at the top of the track to provide increased air containment, temperature control and dust/particle containment.

In this photo, the track system is mounting to the ceiling and uses mounting hardware that is designed to melt at 130 degrees, which is a lower temperature than needed to activate a sprinkler alarm. Once melted, the clips allow the curtains to fall away so they don’t inhibit the fire sprinklers from doing their job.

An Air Containment Center that is to be fully contained usually requires its own filtration system to moderate air temperature and air quality for an area. After you have determined the proper filtration system, AmCraft will suggest a custom curtain solution for optimum effectiveness within the contained area.

Softwall Curtain Barriers for air containment provide an economical solution to building structural walls to contain an area. Our systems can be easily removed and remounted to add flexibility in its use anywhere in a facility.

How to Clean & Maintain Industrial Curtains

How to clean industrial vinyl curtains

At AmCraft, we have a few suggestions on

how to clean industrial curtains

safely. Industrial Curtains are typically fabricated using 14oz or 18oz PVC vinyl in a matte or glossy finish. These heavy vinyl curtains are used in warehouses, autobody shops, technology data centers, food processing plants and other clean room applications. Depending on the requirement and environmental conditions in which they are used, over time industrial curtains collect debris, dust, mold and other contaminates on the surface, edges and track that can affect the cleanliness of the workspace.
Industrial Warehouse Curtains
For effective long use of your vinyl industrial curtain it is important to have a regular cleaning schedule and complete instructions on how to clean industrial curtains. We recommend that you clean the industrial curtains on a regular basis to prevent substance build up and mold that could contaminate the stitching and folds of the curtains. Simple Green is a product that is good for damp cloth cleaning or spot cleaning. It is also environmentally friendly.

Do NOT use a solvent based cleaner, as it could damage the integrity of the material. Rather, use alot of water and a cleaner that has a bleach ingredient. The use of a mild, non abrasive detergent will be necessary to cut through soil or any sort of mildly greasy or oily type film on the curtain. Test a small area first to make sure the cleaner you are using doesn’t discolor or ‘cloud’ the material. Using a cotton or microfiber cloth, wipe down the curtains in a consistent manner to make sure the entire curtain has been cleaned. Then use a clean, non-abrasive dry cloth to wipe down the cleaned area to remove water spots that could form and leave a residue.

Do NOT mix Bleach and Ammonia to use as a cleaner.

For safety purposes, wear eye protection and old clothing when cleaning your industrial curtains.
